PEGylation Technologies
PEGylation technology is now widely used for the modification of proteins, peptides, antibody fragments, oligonucleotides and the like for use as drugs. Among the advantages of PEGylation technology are the following:
- increased bioavailability,
- increased blood circulation of the drug,
- optimized pharmacokinetics,
- decreased immunogenicity, and
- decreased frequency of administration.
